Christoblogging - Sharing the Joy of Christ

Count it all joy to be a Christian (James 1:1-18). My desire is to create a place in cyberspace where Christians can share experiences as well as opinions and views on topics of interest. The experiences in an individual’s Christian walk, when shared, will strengthen the faith of the individual and that of others (1 Thessalonians 5:11). This forum was created to facilitate the strengthening of each other in love. Visit http://www.chrissealey.com for Free Chrisitan resources!

NASA Astronaut Charged With Attempted Murder in Bizarre Love Triangle

As I read this article and saw the story break on the news recently, one text came to my mind, Luke 9:25, “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?” NASA astronaut, Navy Capt. Lisa Nowak, had literally risen above the world, and by all accounts seem to be a good person. But somehow she has lost her way, caught up in a love triangle that almost turned deadly. Were it not for the grace of God in my life, I don’t know where I would be today. I too once was lost, but thanks be to God, Jesus found me and keeps me from being lost.

This is truly a human tragedy as the life and family of Navy Capt. Lisa Nowak is now going through some serious challenges. Let’s keep her and her family in our prayers as well as the other two individuals, and their families, who were caught up in this triangle of lust. She may have commintted a crime, but she is also a victim.

Hormone Spray Is Found To Bolster Trust in Others

The discovery of the use of the hormone oxytocin to bolster an individual's trust is very discomforting for several reasons. Firstly, trust is a fundamental human characteristic that forms the very fabric of our individuality. To think that trust comes in a tablet, which in the wrong hands could be use for bad purposes, is not a happy thought. Secondly, our science is seeking to replace the value of our Creator. As a society we are still wrestling with all the moral issues surrounding the cloning of humans, now we are on the track to change human behavior at the whims and fancies of the drug companies. Truly the world is coming to an end.

Britain set to shelve rejected EU constitution - Yahoo! News

Britain set to shelve rejected EU constitution - Yahoo! News

The recent news surrounding France and the Netherlands rejection of the European Union constitution further strengthens my belief in the Bible and the events foretold in Daniel and the Revelation. In the statue identified in Daniel 2:36-45, the feet of iron and clay represent the European Union. God showed Daniel that the iron and clay, which do not mix, represents a divided kingdom. There will never be a united Europe, it's not in God's plan for the earth. If Europe ever unites into a single union, it would disprove Daniel 2, and hence prove the Bible wrong. Since the Bible is the word of God and He cannot lie (Numbers 23:19), the EU constitution was doomed to fail even before it was written. I wish that the leaders of Europe would read this article and study the Bible when making policy. That would save them a lot of unnecessary embarrassment.

CNN.com - Judge sentences offenders to attend church - May 31, 2005

CNN.com - Judge sentences offenders to attend church - May 31, 2005

Judge Michael Caperton is well intentioned but the means do not justify the end. There are two issues here: (1) Going to church is presented as a form of punishment for convicted criminals; (2) It sets a bad precedent when the state can determine whether or not, when and how you go to chuch. Judge Michael Caperton may hope that criminals becomed reformed by going to church but using church visitation as a form of punishment is not the way to go about it.

Stewards of the Gift of Life

As I traveled on the road today, I felt delighted to see the sunlight, the trees and smell the fresh scents of the last days of Spring. Life in Christ feels good. My mind reflected on the news headlines that grabbed the nation’s attention a few months ago. Everyone was riveted to the news, as the last days of Terry Schiavo unfolded. When considering the question of the right-to-life, the Christian has to comprehend and respect Christ as the Source and the Owner of all life. The unbeliever has willingly decided to retain the right-to-life decision as his or her own. Ultimately, such a person has relegated that decision to the devil. The Christian, on the other hand, has relegated that decision to God – a wise decision (Genesis 2:7). After His resurrection, Christ also gained ownership of death. In all matters pertaining to life and death the Christian must consult God and not the courts or the politicians. As stewards of the gift of life, we understand that Christ has the final decision on the right-to-life. We must be faithful stewards of the gift of life.

Count it all joy to be a Christian

I want to create a place in cyberspace where people can share their experiences as Christians with each other. 2004 was a difficult year for me. God led me to 2 Chronicles 20. Like King Jehosophat, I realized how clueless I was. I learned to pray the Prayer of Jehosophat (verse 12). Here I am in 2005, fully restored by God, financially and otherwise. As a steward of the blessings of God, I must share His goodness with others. Please share with others and me how He has blessed you.
